  • 20 May - Auditions have now been finalised and will be held on Sunday 6 June at the Senior Campus of Xavier College, Barkers Road, Kew (Melways ref 45 C7). A full list of audition times is available here.

  • 20 May - Rehearsal Conductors - The first rehearsal for the Honours Band will be conducted by Joanne Heaton. Remaining rehearsals will be conducted by James Croft.

Background Information

After the success of the 2003 Victorian State Honours Band, we just knew that we would have to reform the band in 2004 and do it all over again!

The ABODA Victorian State Honours Band is open to all musicians up to the age of 21 years with a minimum standard of AMEB grade 5 or equivalent. The 2004 Victorian State Honours Band will operate in a similar manner to the 2003 band. Details for this years band are:

Mid-late June Honours Band members notified
July 11, 18 and 24 Rehearsals held at Xavier College, Barkers Road, Kew
July 24 Concert Performance, St. Leonard's College, Brighton East

The conductor in concert for this year will be James Croft, Professor of Music and Director of Bands at Florida State University, a most respected international music clinician.

If you have already sent in an Expression of interest form, then you don't need to resend your application. All forms should be sent to PO Box 196, Croydon, Victoria, 3136 by 23 April 2004. Alternatively you can email the information to ABODA.
